The Access Gap in Lucknow

Lucknow has a significant gap between dermatology needs and access. Many patients in areas like Rajajipuram, Charbagh, and parts of Aminabad rely on general practitioners or pharmacists for skin conditions — not because they don't need a dermatologist, but because they don't know when a condition requires specialist care, or because cost is a barrier.

Gomti Clinic recognizes this gap and is building initiatives to help address it.

Current Efforts

Free Educational Content

Our website provides free, medically accurate information about common skin conditions — from fungal infections to acne management. This content is written to help people understand when home care is sufficient and when professional treatment is needed.

Honest Consultations

Dr. Ankita regularly encounters patients who don't need expensive procedures — they need correct diagnosis and affordable medication. In these cases, the consultation fee (INR 600) covers a proper assessment, and patients leave with a prescription they can fill at any pharmacy. Not every patient needs lasers and peels.

Planned Initiatives

Free Skin Screening Camps

Periodic free screening camps in community centers and RWA halls across Lucknow neighborhoods, focusing on early detection of conditions that worsen without treatment.

Subsidized Consultations for Students

Lucknow has a large student population — from Lucknow University to various engineering and medical colleges. Acne and hair loss are among the top concerns for this demographic, but clinic costs can be prohibitive. We're exploring subsidized consultation options for students with valid ID.
