Different scar types need different treatments. We classify first, then create a combination protocol.
Assess My ScarsMany patients from Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj, and Aliganj come to Gomti Clinic with acne scars that could have been prevented. The common pattern:
Narrow, deep, pointed scars that look like the skin was punctured. These are the hardest to treat because the scar tissue extends deep into the dermis. Best addressed with TCA CROSS (chemical reconstruction) or punch excision.
Round or oval depressions with sharp vertical edges — like a chicken pox scar but from acne. Respond well to fractional CO2 laser and MNRF treatments.
Broad depressions with rounded, sloping edges that give the skin a wave-like texture. These are caused by fibrous bands pulling the skin down. Subcision (releasing those bands) combined with fillers or PRP gives the best results.
Dark marks left behind after acne heals — technically not a scar but very common in Indian skin tones. These respond well to chemical peels, topical depigmenting agents, and sun protection.
| Treatment | Best For | Sessions Needed |
|---|---|---|
| Fractional CO2 Laser | Boxcar scars, skin resurfacing | 3–5 sessions |
| MNRF (Microneedling RF) | Mild-moderate scars, all skin tones | 3–4 sessions |
| Subcision | Rolling scars with fibrous bands | 1–3 sessions |
| TCA CROSS | Ice pick scars | 3–4 applications |
| Chemical Peels | PIH, superficial scars | 4–6 sessions |
Most patients with moderate-to-severe scarring need a combination of treatments — not just one. For example:
We design a multi-session protocol based on your specific scar map. Each visit may combine 2–3 techniques.
Active acne must be controlled first. Treating scars while new acne keeps forming doesn't make sense — you'd be fixing old scars while creating new ones. We stabilize acne first, then start scar revision.
Depends on the treatment type and number of sessions. See our acne scar laser cost page for detailed pricing.
